QuickBooks for Nonprofits

For those not familiar with it, QuickBooks is accounting software made by Intuit – both a desktop version and an online version.

Desktop Version:

This one is pretty much a no-brainer if you’ve ever paid for QuickBooks.  You can get QuickBooks desktop Premier edition (1-user for $60 and 3-user for $150). Click here to see normal pricing on Intuit’s website.  Other past versions such as Pro will work on the Premier edition.  Premier gives sub-additions.  The Nonprofit sub-addition will take care of your donation records!  This is a one-time purchase, but I do recommend updating to the new edition every other year.  There are both Windows and Mac versions, but QB for Mac probably isn’t the best use of your Mac computer.

Online Version:

Quickbooks has been in a battle trying to get rid of the desktop versions for a little while now, and I presume that in the future, they’ll get rid of it completely.  If your books are somewhat simple, online is the easiest to work with.  You can get a yearly subscription for 5-users for $75. They also have some resources to help get your desktop version migrated into QB Online.
